By purchasing this offset package, you will offset your emissions and support this effort to safeguard endemic Hawaiian species in their natural habitat.
You can choose different offset amounts depending on your calculations 0.5t increments. The price of this offset is US$24.50/t. With each $24.50 this package includes:
- 1 ton of certified Carbon Offsets (from our currently available international offset projects)

1/2 Native Koa Tree (this includes the clearing of invasive species, (if necessary) soil preparation, propagation of the sapling, planting and maintenance until self
sufficient)
By combining local and international projects, we are able to support more expensive small scale local projects while making sure your emissions are mitigated via certified projects and emission
reduction certificates are retired on you behalf. You will receive one certificate stating the total amount you chose to offset in this purchase. If you need several

This mitigation package offers you the opportunity to actively support the restoration of native Koa forests on the slopes of Mauna Kea on Hawai'i Island. Where, on its windward slopes, native plant and animal species once strived, invasive species like Strawberry Guava took their place silencing the once lush sub-tropical forest. However, CarbonBuddy and Bokoa Farms and Forest have come together to combat invasive species and restore the native ecosystem by planting native Koa (Acacia koa) trees that will provide shelter and habitat for other native species to come back and reclaim their home. In the slideshow above you can see how some of Bokoa Farms and Forest ground is already being restored by their owners.

Bokoa Farms and Forest manages its forests sustainable utilizing selective, low impact harvesting techniques. The harvest of selected trees will provide resources for planting additional trees while making sure, the native ecosystem with its functions is maintained and a sustainable timber source is available.
